AN INDEPENDENT NEW YORK CREATIVE HOUSE
Meta Is Dope is an independent New York creative house founded by Pop Buchanan and Jennifer Ruff. Its work spans digital art, NFTs, music, comics, storybooks, and connected creative worlds.
The image studio has four workstations: Signal Garden, Glitch Engine, Transmutation, and Image Fields. A separate fifth workstation, Animation Studio, runs a still image through one of those engines, animates rotating glitch effects, and exports a 4- or 5-second looping GIF. Adjust available controls, compare the source and transformed image, then export.
Some operations use seeds or ordered processing steps. Matching settings do not guarantee identical pixels across browsers, devices, or software versions. Where an engine describes a seeded or replayable transform, cross-browser pixel identity has not been established.
In the active image studio and Animation Studio, selected PNG, JPEG, or WebP files are read by the browser. Animation Studio scales a working copy to at most 480 pixels on its longest edge, applies the selected image engine with Canvas 2D, then creates the animated GIF in the browser. The built-in sample images are drawn in the browser. Image pixels and generated results stay in page memory while you use the studio. PNGs, recipe files, and GIF exports are created in the browser and downloaded to your device. Image file digests, when available, are also calculated in the browser.
The reviewed active studio code does not upload source images, processed frames, or outputs to a server or third party. It contains no analytics or remote error-reporting integration, and the active studio does not write images or outputs to cookies, local storage, or IndexedDB.
Rights in the project are retained by Meta Is Dope and POPR Technologies Inc. Third-party software and assets remain subject to their respective licenses and unresolved provenance questions described below.
You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to use and transform your images. You retain the rights you hold in images you upload. The studio does not determine who owns a source image, whether an output is protectable, or whether another person’s rights are affected.
The studio does not guarantee that an output will be unique, exclusive, commercially successful, or eligible for copyright protection. Similar inputs, settings, and techniques can produce work with similar visual characteristics.
Meta Is Dope commissioned this image augmentation studio. It is a collaboration: POPR Technologies Inc. designed and built the technology with Meta Is Dope.
